Ultimate Ears triple.fi 10 Pro
I’ve been wanted to buy a new earphone for quite sometime. And since both my sister and mom also want a decent earphone, so I thought, well, why not give one of them mine and I’ll go buy a new one
So, I ebayed an Ultimate Ears triple.fi 10 Pro from an US seller on 27th Feb. It was shipped the next day and I received it on 1st March. That was quick isn’t it!
Now, my Shure E3C is waiting for someone to use. Mom said she want to know if sis wants it, and sis is undecided whether to buy a new one for herself or use my old earphone.

Meier Audio’s CORDA 2MOVE
Sometime this month, while browsing some on-line discussion forums, I came to know something called headphone amplifier. It is necessary for more hi-end headphones which have higher resistance and a normal CD/mp3 player won’t have enough power to drive it, i.e. no sound can come out of the headphone. In other cases, it is believed with this attached, the sound will be better, clear, louder, etc.
Hence, out of curiosity, I begin my quest of finding a suitable amplifier. Ones that are within the price range that I can afford are the CORDA’s portable series: CORDA HEADSIX, CORDA XXS and CORDA 2MOVE. I choose the 2MOVE series because it has built-in digital-to-analog converter (DAC), with it, the music can by-pass the build-in “cheap” sound card on my motherboard and hopefully can provide a much better music to my speaker and earphone.
The headphone/earphone shop (音悅音響) where I bought my Shure E3C and brother’s Westone UM1 is also selling it, but the price is little (really, very little) cheaper if I deal with the manufacturer myself. And anyway, it will be interesting to deal with the maker of the product personally than through a dealer/third-party. Therefore, I emailed Jan Meier, the owner of Meier Audio, on the 22nd to query on the pricing, shipping, delivery method, etc.
After having several elaborate email exchanges, payment was made on 23rd and CORDA 2MOVE was shipped on the same day. Jan told me it will take around 10 days to reach, which is expected.
On the sixth day after delivery, CORDA 2MOVE reaches its final destination!
Razer Krait & Glidepad
So, after purchase the new power supply and a second-hand Seagate 320 enterprise hard disk (well, I didn’t mentioned in earlier blogs), I also noticed my mouse to begin acting strange since a few weeks ago. So, time to loss more money and get a new mouse and mouse pad.
See what I got for NT$1850: Razer Krait, Glidepad Platinum II and X-ray mouseskates
